Fusion Marketplace application modal redesign

Role: UX/UI Designer

Fusion Marketplace is a division of Fusion Medical Staffing. It’s a web app where users can search for travel healthcare positions.

The problem

The application modal on the Fusion Marketplace website was confusing to use. It was lengthy, had too many places to edit information, and none of the updated information was saved to the user's profile. This made it tedious to apply for jobs and frustrating for the user to keep their profile up to date.

Skills used in this project:

  • Research

  • Wireframing

  • UX/UI design

  • Designing within a design system

The process and solution

The team and I reviewed the profile and application screens to find any missing information. During this process, we found that updated form fields and the uploaded resume were not saved to the traveler's profile. I took these findings and created a simplified modal that alleviated the identified pain points. The new modal is half the length, reduces the decisions for the user, and has a new resume section.

The updated personal information section only has three editable parts. This streamlines the application process for travelers as they don't need to re-enter information already in their profile.

The new resume section speeds up the application process by allowing travelers to use a resume they've already uploaded. Also, since travelers often switch assignments, we made it possible for them to download and check the date of their uploaded resumes.

The designs were created right before the product was sold. At this time the changes have not been implemented.
